Timing is PERFECT! Just what we need. Didja know there is a DANISH COVID 19 MINK VARIANT that could start a NEW pandemic?

Two pandemics running parallel simultaneously?

You're my lost intellectual dead sister Rosie. Stuffed herself full of consumables all the time. I wonder if this was due to childhood trauma! She would have been 74 now, but she died at 47. This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at November 6, 2020 6:55 AM MST

Thank you for your reply CW. So I gather from what you haven't said that all is well? So what was your sister's name and did she really eat herself to death? I just turned 83 a few days ago. She died at 47 but would have been 74 had she lived. Were you close? Do you know what might have caused that in her? Condolences m'dear. This post was edited by RosieG at November 6, 2020 6:58 AM MST

Yes Rosie. I'm well. Deep grain wheat toast of an inelectable variety got in Canada with deep exquisite espresso coffee probably from a food co-op they help run. Lamb and pates and root beer wine and millions of menthol cigarettes. It didn't stop her from practising Gershwin on the piano though. Never wore anything but a loose black t shirt. Compost heaps and a garden living room and messy dogs and nice smelly guck and furballs. Every other word she used was extreme and had a nuclear physicist husband who refuse the Nobel Prize! GEORGE GERSHWIN? Rhapsody in Blue? Concerto in F? An American in Paris? THAT GEORGE GERSHWIN? Now that diet of deep grain wheat toast is healthy provided the fiber stays intact. Never had espresso so I can't comment on that. Lamb is what Armenians eat a lot of..SPRING LAMB not mutton. Pates? I'm a fan of them bigly. But root beer wine? Menthol cigarette? How big was the black t shirt?. Long enough to cover her up so she was always "decent". She sounds like a tortured genius. I have a sister 7 years younger than I am. We are best friends. I treasure her. So losing a sister is significant and very sad. Thank you for your reply CW and retroactive CONDOLENCES.

Really? Does that comfort you or sadden you because Mary Trump has been on TV a lot of late. Loss is never easy. But the pain does diminish over time. Our son David passed away in May 2019. Of bladder cancer. Still fresh. Life goes on. Thank you for your reply CW. Do you have any other siblilngs? I just have the one sister. I am so lucky! :)

I have 3 older brothers too Rosie.
One was insanely laughing growing up, the other was a complete last say narcissist and the other is like "get way from me I want to be alone!" Lots of insane irony and concomitant refusals. I'm sorry about your son Rosie but you know what they say "Death knows no age"
I can relax now with anxiety help but I was completely flipping out with narcissist righteousness which something save me from.

Geez CW LUCKY YOU! I always wanted to have an older brother. Always. I was a shy introvert so you can imagine how I felt around boys. I thought if I just had an older brother to help me through and give me advice. And you have 3? Boy oh boy are you close with them equally or do you have a favorite? Also are you taking meds to help with anxiety? And last of all honestly a narcissist. YOU? I dunno CW. I can't envision it. And I'm usually very good at envisioning. If I'm being too nosy just ignore the questions. I won't mind. Thank you for your reply m'dear. Boy! THREE OLDER BROTHERS? Wow! This post was edited by RosieG at November 6, 2020 9:00 AM MST

I am equally close with them all. Wait..not really. The youngest brother can't handle the either two and has steel integrity to see them for what they are. He wants to be his own man. I fear I might have slight schizoid tendencies. I find it real hard not to pop off:) The marijuana spirit pipe has agreeers. Agreeers! Why can't that be a word!?
After the top two females in the house died, the guys had no agree glue. They all dislike each other except for me. Dad was a social bad....Nut bag with a patronizing edge. What did daddy buy you that car!? Suicide to ride with my dad. This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at November 6, 2020 9:23 AM MST

Any word you make up is fine with me. I make up words all the time. FUTURELY is a favorite. You make up whatever words you wish and I will "borrow" them to show my support and respect. LANGUAGE is not stiff rigid dead. The spelling police annoy the he** outta me. AS IF they had any right to attack insult deride denigrate derogate. They are not the boss of what is "CORRECT". WHAT BULLSH** is that? All they know how to do is correct the work of others.Ride on their coattails. Nothing creative about that. They are parasites. Pitiful. I think having an agree glue around is helpful but not essential. It's nice but so is being rich. If you're not you can have a happy life too. You adjust. You adapt. You bend. I have a plaque that says "BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED". I always have since I had no other choice. Have you too CW? We all have to be resourceful and adaptable and be responsible accountable for the person we are. All our relatives are elsewhere. My sister and her husband live 500 miles away. One son currently lives in a suburb outside Reno,Nevada again about 500 miles away. But he informed us he and his wife are thinking of moving to TEXAS. 1000 miles or so away. She is Mexican and has tons of relatives in Mexico. Plus our son wants to try out living some other place. Then our other son lives in Honolulu, Hawaii. He has lived there since 2007 and I expect will stay there forever. We don't travel any more. Too big a hassle. Too arduous on us. So here we are doing swell but well we miss them of course. Jim's sister Jo died a few years ago from emphezema due to her husband Larry who was a huge smoker and died of lung cancer. We miss her bigly. Sigh. We miss what used to be but we are making new memories. Smaller to be sure since there are fewer people to make memories with. No complaints. Thank you for your reply! :)

Do you live alone my friend? Do you have someone in your life who always cheers you up, makes you laugh, makes you feel better than you were feeling? Someone on whom you can always count? Again if you don't want to answer that question don't. But even us loners need a hug or an "atta boy" or an "atta girl" from time to time. Gosh our lives are so different now. We have neighbors we used to chat with all the time and hug and give food we had cooked to share. Now? We wave and say hello FROM A DISTANCE. There is something very wrong about that but well we don't know who could be an innocent carrier so we have to assume anyone out there could kill us. Can you IMAGINE that ever in your life? We can't but we are in the high risk group and though very healthy who knows if we could survive COVID? Plus which the permanent damage to organs and brain can be debilitating. The worst is yet to come we are told. GREAT. Just what we need to know. Anyway as long as we're here and can chat pleasantly and comfortably we're OKAY. Aren't we? Thank you for your reply CW! :)

The Danish government has ordered an immediate cull, well, extermination, of all the mink.

Perhaps not a parallel pandemic but certainly adding to the present one.

The UK Government has ordered all travellers from Denmark, most of them Britons who had visited the country for whatever reason, to put themselves in 14-day quarantines.

Even without this, new strains are only to be expected, as the Corona Virus family mutates slightly all the time, to stay a step ahead. This is why we cannot vaccinate against the Common Cold, and need an Influenza vaccination annually: they too are corona-viral diseases.

Looking ahead, although I have heard no mention of this anywhere, I wonder if the Danes will consider this to be the time to end breeding mink. After all, they are bred only for fashion fur no-one needs, although one might exempt fur used solely as part of protective clothing against extreme cold. (It was stopped in Britain quite a long time ago now, but not before  brainless "animal rights" types had broken into legal fur farms and released the non-native animals into the wild to become a pest, damaging the indigenous ecology.)

One might ask similarly of China, where although the popular view is that the Chinese sell wild animals for food that is only part of it. They breed vast numbers of animals in poor care and hygiene conditions, both for food and for so-called "traditional medicine", a cultural practice so deeply ingrained it would be extremely difficult to stamp out. In Africa and other regions too, where large numbers of wild animals are killed as "bush meat" - this is more understandable than fashion or "traditional medicine" but is still a major health hazard.

Well it might not just be mink a couple of people in Canada have died because they caught the viris from their pet hedgehogs.  Luckally you now have a president that will take the coronviris seriously and do every  thing in his power to beat it. Cheers!
