    False memory definition: an apparent recollection of an event that did not actually occur, especially one of childhood sexual abuse arising from suggestion during psychotherapy.

    I just wonder what causes it though. One doesn't have to go to a psychiatrist to experience it. Something triggers those "memories" and I wonder what that trigger is? thank you for your reply CMI! :)
