    He’s messing with both of us. His position is that the entire two-word phrase “living room” is not a verb. I counter that while he may have a valid point, the way the question is posted does not prevent an answer such as yours, because its first word is definitely a verb. Your answer is fine, it still stands. Pay him little attention.

    Your English skills are very, very good, in fact, you’re better than many native speakers (ok, writers).  I wish my Spanish skills were half as good as your English.

    Tu conocimiento de inglés es muy, muy bueno, de hecho, eres mejor que la mayoría de hablantes nativos (pues, escritores).  Deseaba yo que mi conocimiento de español fuera la mitad bueno tal como tu inglés.
