Hmm... that's a toughie.  Flour tortillas are more durable, but corn tortillas get better distance.  I'd probably go with corn tortillas.  They're a bit coarser which enables one to have a firmer grip on them prior to release.  It should be noted, however, that white corn tortillas don't withstand wind shear as well as yellow ones, so they usually don't travel as far.  (best to just get a real Frisbee) This post was edited by Shuhak at November 30, 2020 9:24 PM MST

I have a low carb flour tortilla every morning with my breakfast.  Double wrapped corn tortillas are the best.  There is a little place in Somis California that makes the best corn tortillas (or used to).  It is a small town (or was). The tortillas were sold at the only neighborhood store. I think about them from time to time and hope I can visit them again. Their tacos are the best. Flour tortillas for burritos and corn tortillas for tacos.  This post was edited by Art Lover at November 30, 2020 9:24 PM MST

Neither. Both have too many carbs for a healthy diet.

  • I choose neither.

I have a different definition of tortilla than you have.  I also have different definitions of other Spanish words than you may have.

Tortilla is a dish made with potatoes, eggs and onions.

    My favourite recipe is:

500 grams of potatoes.  Cut them into cubes.

    1 onion.  Slice the onion.

    6 eggs

    3 tablespoons of olive oil

    1 tablespoon of paprika

Put the potatoes and onions on a baking sheet, then put the olive oil and paprika on them.  Then, roast them at 200˚C for thirty minutes or until the edges are brown.

Mix them with scrambled eggs, and add 3/4 teaspoon of salt and pepper.  Pour them into a dish and bake for thirty minutes.

    That's how I make a tortilla.  It's delicious!

    ¡Olé!

(Technically speaking, it’s not my definition. I live just north of the US/Mexico border, so the intertwined influences of both language and culture of that country color a lot of everyday life here. The Mexican tortilla is certainly not the same as the Argentine tortilla. Of course, you’re absolutely correct in that the differences from one country to another can be vast. Thanks for giving us a perspective that helps broaden us!)

  • When people in the USA used Spanish words, I sometimes misunderstood them.  I have since learned their definitions of Spanish words.  When I say salsa, it can mean any type of sauce, such as mustard, ketchup or barbecue.  When people in the USA say salsa, it can only mean a picante made with tomatoes and peppers.  When I say queso, it can mean any type of cheese, such as Swiss, Cheddar or Brie.  When people in the USA say queso, it can only mean cheese dip.  I even have a different definition of tilde.  When I say tilde, I mean the accent marks on á, é, í, ó and ú.  When people in the USA say tilde, they mean la virgulilla de la eñe.

Always flour, and after I fill them they must be grilled and pressed on a hot dry skillet to toast them and make them crunchy on the outside.  I had one for dinner tonight with ham and cream cheese inside.  Delish!

My wife loves them crunchy like that also!  Say, do you think maybe you’re sisters?
