    No discrimination - you don't need a utensil to eat a sandwich,(unless it's an open-faced one, and in that instance it's more like an entree.

    This is advertised as a sandwich knife. There are other varieties, too.

    Perhaps it's because there is no utensil worthy of bearing that name.  Oh,  tools have tried, such as the sandwich spatula, but they can not retain the name long.  It takes many delicate utensils to create a sandwich, such as a cheese slicer, a bread knife, a can opener... just to name a few. 
    For a single utensil to bear the title of "sandwich" in its name would only serve to belittle the many utensils who, together, create this masterpiece.

      Just think, Shuhak, I almost threw it all away to run off with Savvy. I am so glad I cooled my heels and found out more about her. I’m down for all kinds of weirdness, sure, it’s just that I can’t cross the line over to doing things with sandwiches. Is nothing sacred?
