Yes I should have a sweet snack on me and resolved to do so afterwards. However near hypos are rare for me and I easily backslide.
As for the feeling, I was faced with this hill and suddenly did not feel like going up it. Shortly I did not even feel like walking home. My options were - a modest distance to the petrol station and shop, chap on my friends door, or find out if a bus was due. The last worked out best. At home I found my sugar was just above hypo.
There are worse than me. I can still get away without a rigid diet. I suspect my brother has worse complications than me and his wife has type 1 which is harder to manage.
The idea of a companion appeals so that the authorities don't have to take over if I fall ill. I'll be socialising like mad when things reopen, not that I'm very good at dating. It took 40 years to get the first wife.
