It started when I was about five or six years old, my mother introduced us to dunking a corner of a slice of toast into a cup of hot tea on cold mornings. The taste is absolutely delicious. (The trick to avoid soggy crumbs on the beverage is to dunk very quickly, not allowing the bread to linger in it.). I am not a coffee-drinker, but I have also dunked toast in hot chocolate, in oatmeal, and cookies in milk.
Dunking is not something I’ve done very often as an adult, but I certainly have done it every now and then.
