When I use my voice to tell my arm to rise above my head does not work but when I use thought to command my arm it does work. Why is that?

I spent time doing some serious research today.

    I have no accent, but something might be wrong with my arm's ability to hear.

    Ok so that's why thought works and voice does not. Problem solved I guess.

    I experience the same kind of thing! Wow, this is a real eye-opener, because when my wife tells me to do something, it never gets done. But when I want to do something it always does.
