    Chicken pox. It can cause shingles at any age and without warning.

    we got shots to prevent that a few years ago. my sister in law got it and said it was the worst pain she ever had. have you and maureen gotten vaccinated to protect you from getting it?

    According to our doctor, the shots only work if you never had chicken pox. Both of us had it as kids, before the shots became available. No point in shutting the stable gate after the horse has bolted.
