Raspberries and blackberries are very fragile and delicate. They don't last long in the fridge. Blueberries and strawberries are a bit sturdier. But all berries are manificently NUTRITIOUS! Thank you for your reply L and Happy Monday! :)
We love melons too and we didn't buy ONE last year! They were all green. Cantaloupe gets a nice wheaty color and has a fragrance when ripe. Every one we saw no matter what store was GREEN netting. How were the ones where you live? We like other melons too but cantaloupe is most favorite! Thank you for your reply L! :)

Walmart had great cantaloupes last year and the watermelon was pretty good, too. I find that peaches are a problem and have been for some time. I don't know what they do to them, but they have almost no scent or taste.
YOUR WALMART HAD GREAT CANTALOUPES? Geez that's so weird. I mean our Central Valley grows tons of fruit. Do they ship the good stuff out of the state? They must have. San Joanquin Valley is just a few hundred miles north of us and you got all the great cantaloupes? Were they from us in California or from Mexco? Thank you for your reply L! :)
To be honest, I don't know where they were from because I buy them already cut up. Easier for me even though it's more expensive. Same with the watermelon.
Any favorites? Are you partial to particular kinds or do you just enjoy all varieties? Thank you for your reply p&l and Happy Monday to thee and thine> :)
Do beverages count? I always buy Australian grown where possible, but one thing we can't grow here is decent coffee - our hills aren't high enough. You can get rubbish "filler coffee" at sea level, but the good stuff grows in cloud, five thousand feet or more up. Only two of our mountains approach that and they're too far south.
