When was the last time you saw an old jalopy being driven on the roads?

There is a man at my gym who drives a car with no bumpers, several large dents, and more rust than paint. On day he backed into me and in the subsequent discussion about damage and insurance, I asked him if he was going to file a claim. His looked at me like I was an idiot.

Not sure when exactly but I was in Alabama; I do remember the where of it.
