The most recent time you filled up something only halfway, why did you not do it all the way?

 

[For me, it was already half full, so I was just topping it off for her.]

    I only desired to drink 18 oz. of water.   I filled my 12 oz glass full, drank the contents, then filed it again, but only half way.  12+6=18
