Admittedly there has never been a phenomenon like trump. Are psychiatrists psychoanalysts psychologists analyzing categorizing theorizing?.

Will there be a whole new section of study called "trumpism"? Will it be studied and investigated and taken apart and put back together repeatedly to figure it out? Will there be an EXPERT on trumpism to whom all will listen to understand what it is and how it infiltrated a certain segment of humankind?

It is not a worldwide passion. It is located in one narrow tiny portion of the world with a very small population. It is not contagious but once you get it you never get rid of it and you do pass it on down through genetics to your children.

Something we feared but now? We see it for what it is. A madness. A plague. A black death. But localized.

What good came from it? That will be explored. Did the horrendously egregious outweigh the good? Were there any survivors that healed and rid themselves of it or once gotten it stays got?

All of that may well be documented. It will take a series of books to cover it. When will they be published and available to the public? AFTER all of the sh** hits all of the fans and the man is charged and tried and convicted. Perhaps not in my lifetime but surely in yours. Perhaps in a few years. It is coming.

Doubtful. American law protects people from being summarily executed, and that's probably a good thing.

American law protects a lot of things that happen anyway.

But with Secret Service protection, that's unlikely to happen to a former president. Why would you want it to?

Because as long as he has any control over the GOP, there will never be a willingness to compromise to enact legislation that benefits everyone - not just the people who need it the least.

But we're seeing some Republicans in Congress supporting the bill to create a commission to investigate the events of January 6th, which means the party is divided. Nothing wrong with that. And the last thing anyone needs is for him to become a martyr. And furthermore, summary executions just don't happen in the US.

Yes, 35 Republicans finally found their moral compass (along with some body parts), but look how long it's taken for them to stand up.  That's probably the best thing that could happen to the GOP and perhaps it will mean that politicians (on both sides) will realize that the electorate is tired of the same old, same old do-nothing for which they work a very short year and get paid.  OK, so maybe karma will dispose of him in another way.  It's fine with me.

American law speaks Trump's language - old money. That's all that will keep him out of prison, the enquiry into his business dealings has just been expanded from civil to criminal and his response has been nothing short of panic.

But I was talking about the unlikelihood of him being summarily executed as Mussolini was. Personally, I don't feel a need to see him go to prison since I don't have all the facts. I'm satisfied that he is out of power, and I don't particularly care what happens to him.
