Even though the COVID19 vaccination is “free of charge” to the recipients, how much does each dose cost?

I found sources that claim everything from $2 USD to $3 USD to $37 USD. It is difficult to find accurate answers.

Knowing pharmaceutical companies, it probably costs them $1 to make 1000 doses, then they turn around and change the federal government $1,000 per dose (they are addicted to money).

All I know is that the Australian government screwed it up - badly. The AstraZeneca vaccine is unsafe for recipients under 50 and that's the one they ordered. And not enough of it.

Yeah, it's clear as mud, isn't it? :(

Personally, I wish the deals that first world countries made with big pharma would have included eventual vaccinations for anyone who wanted them, regardless of what country they call home. It's just WRONG that healthy American children and young adults who have no risk of death from COVID are getting vaccinated and elderly people in many countries are simply out of luck.
