Math sucks because as they teach you in school, "math" isn't just "math", it's everything!
Just when you started to get all the multiplying, dividing, percentages, fractions and other stuff down, some fool thought it'd be funny to screw with people's minds and decided to mix in some letters. "We ran out of numbers so we'll toss in some letters and go from there". (great, english AND math in the same class!!)
If that weren't bad enough, they ran out of letters. "We ran out of english letters, so we'll toss in some Greek letters as well. (English, math and now a foreign language.. in the SAME class???!!!)
Then they just started making things up. They'd make a doodle, or a squiggle, or their pencil would slip across the paper .. and viola - a new "math symbol" was born. (English, math, foreign language, and now art too?)
Got to toss in a bit of cooking - pie (and they get all bent out of shape over the shape of the pie).
Why, they even threw in bit of sex ed - "I saw Soleeze" at "a cute angle" doing the "Mobius strip" (spoilers - she ain't cute and there's no skin).
Then they just messed with you to see if you're paying attention with things like, High Pot a noose (nope, they ain't hanging any marijuana), abd Trap A Zoid (nope, not a video game)!
This is why most people hate math. Learning it was like being in prism.
After early and good success, and advanced placement in math, I began to have challenges. But I still enjoyed the challenge of learning. Wasn't afraid. Frustrated, though (in a good way).
And, like all of their bits, I certainly enjoy this Kid Snippets bit about Math Class! Ha!! Hope you can check it out if you haven't seen it before.
EDIT: The premise of all the bits -- they record real children just talking about things and then adults act out the children's dialogues. :)
