My mother has only been persuaded to travel by airplane once in her life, but both before and since refused and refuses to do so.

Do you know of anyone who has only flown once in his or her lifetime and since then refuses to do so, just like my mother’s situation? This excludes people who have never flown at all and excludes people who (for whatever reason) are no longer alive after having taken that first and only flight.
