Thanksgiving, I guess. Holidays in general. I hosted many gatherings over the years and people were pleased and wanted to return. Appetizers, turkey, ham, potatoes, yams, 2 kinds of stuffing, salads, casseroles, etc. Sometimes even homemade desserts!

I've had many successes, and some less thans.  My husband's great aunt had Sunday lunch at her house until she was close to 100.  We lived in the city; she lived in a small town 70 miles away so we didn't always make Sunday lunch.  But we did occasionally and always requested her crab casserole.  It was just to die for.  I made it once and it was great.  I lost the recipe and that was that.  She was gone and so was her recipe.
