    Not as an adult. I wrote songs when I was very young. Mostly lyrics.

  • Does composing music as part of a music class count?  If so, then I did compose music (no lyrics) when I was studying music in college.

    Both. I wrote, composed and performed my original material with a band. I wrote my first tune when I was six, and did the "Fake News Blues" for Rosie a couple of years ago. That one took life of its own, complete with a walking bass solo (which I do NOT do, it just happened).
