What could go wrong with a plane that has been flying for the past 45 years?

News item: cargo plane crashed in the ocean just  off Hawaii this morning. Both pilots rescued, one in critical condition.

    A better question would be ... what couldn't go wrong?

    It all depends on maintenance.
    There are WW2 planes still flying, thanks to receiving quality maintenance.

    New planes crash too.  There is no 100% Safeway to travel.  If one is going to live in fear of what might happen, you might as well be locked up in a padded room.
