    He speaks like an unapologetic child of Cain. Amazing how many on the Christian right endorse this man even given no good choices. Will they do the same for another man we all know is coming?

  • I think he's a bit of a 20th century oddity.  Massively privileged on the one hand, but also (I suspect) rather mistreated and possibly subject to abuse by his father.  This paternal god-complex has moulded his behaviour all his life.  Trying to be like daddy.  Fine if daddy wasn't a bully with some of the 20th century's least attractive social beliefs, but....

    Trump is in no way extraordinary.  There are loads of people like him: damaged, disfunctional, incapable, deceived, lost.  His situation is rather unusual, but merely serves to display his flaws to a wider audience.
