I like that you added Meryl.  How could she not be on the list (except for the fact that she is a living legend)

I'm thinking I should have added Eastwood.

These are three legends for my WelbyQuentin Silver Screen Legends list. It probably does not apply to the rest of the world.

~ Montgomery Clift     ~ extremely handsome, extremely great actor (perhaps the best I've ever seen)

~ Veronica Cartwright  ~ everything I've seen her in - - she is REAL and IS her character; ALWAYS a completely honest portrayal

~ Guy Pearce          ~ see Monty Clift's reason and it applies to Guy, too

    ;)

Veronica Cartwright?  The one from Danny Thomas show?

Or the one on the X files and are they the same person?

No, the Danny Thomas Show girl is Angela Cartwright. She grew up to be in "Lost in Space" TV show as Penny, too. Angela and Veronica are cousins in real life.
I'm unsure if Veronica was in "The X-Files." She might have been. I never watched the show.

Veronica played Rod Taylor's little sister in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" when she was young.

I also like her as "Lambert" in the original "Alien" movie --  she was the nervous crew member and the only other female in the cast besides Sigourney Weaver.

And Veronica is great as "Nancy Bellicec" in the 1978 version of "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers." (Jeff Goldblum's wife in the movie)

And PLOT SPOILER!!! "The Witches of Eastwick"!!!!!!!!!!!!  In my opinion, Veronica stole the entire movie from the big-stars film in her portrayal of the minister's wife - - she has a horrendously real-feeling scene throwing up cherries!

Just these performances alone make her a legend to me. I go see/watch a movie if I know she's in it.
    :)

And I re-posted one of my favorite Guy Pearce photos in the photo section of Answermug. Ha!
    :)

Absolutely she was Welby. That was Angela... I MEAN VERONICA.... (see what I mean?)  and I always get her confused with Veronica and I did not know they were related. But if she was in Invasion of the Body Snatchers, that is why she was chosen for the X Files I am sure.  They liked to stick with the Sci-Fi actors in their star selection.

You remember her character in that movie way better than I do! Nice work, there, WingedWonder!
    :)
I just remember the general effect she projected. I saw the movie only once. Now I need to go watch the movie again!

Angela Cartwright is the younger sister of Veronica, not cousins.

Thanks, Lulu'sMom!! Cool! I'm glad you corrected me --  I don't know why I always thought they were cousins!
Your reply gives me another reason just to think about Veronica and the enjoyment she's provided me with her roles.
    :)
    Thanks, again,
    Be Well,

Keep going everyone.  I love thinking about all these amazing people.  They have taught us so much in both their screen characters and real lives as well.

So many great beauties and gorgeous men.  So many tragedies.  And Shirely?  She is one of the few that walked the New Age path from that era.

She saved my life in the 70's when I thought I was the only one and then I picked up Out on a Limb.

That  limb she offered kept me sane.
