Rememeber when Halloween cartoons and specials were cool?

Yeah, but the Simpsons jumped the shark 15 years ago.  I don't know anyone who still watches it.

I gave up after Phil Hartman died.  Around season 10.

Yeah that's about when I didn't care anymore as well.   I catch it once in awhile nowadays and it's just a terrible cliche.

Actually?  It is the same thing as when our Phil was on.  There was never a time when SNL was terrific each week.  Sometimes it is deplorably boring.

But you missed Kristin Wiig for one thing.  And there were others who were just as funny. 


BUT PHIL?  No one can top him.  (but there were contenders)

SNL hasn't been funny or worthwhile since like 92.  God that show sucks!!!!

WOW Thanks WW. I never saw this and I love Dr. Seuss even more than Tim Burton.

Same here.   Me and sis had a giant book shelf with all the Dr. Seuss books.  Those and Little Golden Books

I was a spoiled, only-child for the first half of the 50's so I had ALL of those Goldens.  LOL

You know what the irony of it all is you guys?

He did NOT like kids.  They made him uneasy.

Yeah!! His wife said he was terrified of them in fact.  He was an extreme introvert as well.

Did you know he worked as an ad-man for the marine industry for many years?

Oh  sure.  I do know that.   I have some of his pencil drawings saved somewhere in fact. 

I have a few old ads he did.  One was for an marine oil company he did with Gil Elvgren.   I like both of them and have an affinity for boats so it kinda has dual appeal to me.
