When was the last time you used a rest stop? They’re not as commonly found in Southern California as they are in other parts of the US.

I don't remember it has been awhile.  

I used one somewhere around 1986 on my way to a small town in Virginia.

Three years ago coming home from Maine. It was on I-90 in upsate, NY.

I can't remember exactly, but it's been a 2-3 years.
Anytime I have to drive more than a couple hours at a time, I will use a rest stop to get out and stretch.
Besides "working out the kinks", it helps keep me alert.
