Stormy hurricane next is Julian. Then Kate and will she be way worser because she has a dame's name not a guy's? Whatcha think?

Why not Ken or Keith or Kurt?

Alternating dame and guy is why?

Many women's names can be/are used for guys as well (welcome to the whacked-out 21st century).

It's only recently (1979) that male names have been included in the offering (gender equality and all).

Hurricane names are alternated evenly between male and female (no preferential treatment).

Hurricane names are picked 6 years in advance of a hurricane season.

Yet, even with all this, hurricanes with female names are more deadlier than those with male names.     Why is this?
    - It could be that the data included the time before male names were used.
    - It could be that female names are more passive sounding so people take them less seriously (which hurricane sounds like it'd be more impactful - Hurricane Fawn or Hurricane Thor?).
    - It could simply be a coincidence (hurricanes have no concept of names).
    - Or perhaps it's like William Congreve said - Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

I think that the size and the name of a hurricane dosen't matter to Trump because they all take attention away from him. In a phone in interview Trump complained  that on Sunday the only thing that the news was talking  about was the hurricane instead of his great deal  with the Tailban

Alternating the gender of the name is a nod to feminism. The idea is that one is not poetically implying that just one sex is always responsible for all that destruction.
Some people carry symbolism to ridiculous extremes.
