Have you ever gone into a supermarket store and noticed that, besides staff, you were the only person in there?

    I guess it would be very rare. I went into a Safeway one time about 8:30 pm and there were only two employees, a ckeckout lady and one other employee.

    Night crew doesn’t come on until 10 or 11 and there’s usually not much business after 8 pm.  As such, very little help is scheduled during that time; usually a checker and a bagger or a day-stocker.
