    I have an LG. It is 3-4 yrs old. No flashlight problems.

    Considering how many dim bulbs there are out there, I'd say they don't last long.

    My friend has an opposite problem ... the light turns on at random, and she can't shut it off.
    It turns off by itself.  Also at random intervals.

    Theoretically, LEDs should last indefinitely. In practice, it should still outlast the phone by a considerable margin.
