    No.

    Those are the most used materials because they are so abundant.

    If other materials were more abundant, or easier to extract and build with ... those materials would be used.

    Actually they're not. Silica and aluminium are far more abundant than iron (in the crust, at least). Harder to refine, but there's a lot more of it.
