Example: You go panning for gold, but instead you find diamonds.

Gold is more valuable than diamonds. If deBeers stopped hoarding them, they'd be cheap.

I know, but if I panned up a nice stash of them, I could sell them, weight for weight, for a lot more. Right now, a 1 carat flawless, D color diamond can be purchased for about $10K-$15K. One fifth gram of gold is about $12.

  • I know only examples of incredibly bad luck.  Many cars were parked on my street, but the drunk driver hit my car.  My previous car was a Chevy Cruze.  The drunk driver was in a pickup truck.  He was moving at 70 km/h, so my car lost.  The policeman sampled his breath twice because he didn't believe the first measurement.  The drunk driver was seven times the alcohol limit.

I always have bad luck.  I've never won a game of chance.  When I went to McDonald's with my friends, all of my friends won a free hamburger, fries or drink when they peeled the sticker off of the cup.  When I peeled the sticker off of the cup, I only saw Inténtelo de nuevo.  My friend tried to help me.  She traded her drink with me so I could win.  When I peeled the sticker off the cup, I still saw Inténtelo de nuevo. She won a Big Mac.  She felt empathy for my bad luck, so she gave me her cup so I could have the Big Mac.  I redeemed the prize later.  I became sick in the middle of the night after I ate it, so I threw it up.

I think not winning a Big-Mac would be good luck.
