I don't know. I remember hearing her speak very little. The most interesting thing she said to me was "Never play cards or drink beer." I guess those were the two worst things in which one might engage. Based on old papers we found in my mother's house, my grandmother was quite a character.

None of my four grandparents attended college or were well-educated at all. But all were quite intelligent and passed that on to their children, especially my maternal ones, who were extremely proud of sending my mother to college at Cornell (where she was sorority sisters with Ruth Bader) and my uncle to college at Yale and law school at the University of Chicago.
I’ve never known my biological father nor anyone from his family. My memories of my maternal grandmother’s style of speaking center on how ”country” she was. ~

Yes, she did. Funny you mention my Grandmother. This morning I looked in the mirror and saw my Grandmother, it startled me for a min, now I'm just depressed. Time has run out......
