I agree with you about the Eliot Stabler character on “Law & Order: SVU”, played by Chris Meloni. The show morphed into a preachy left-wing soap opera in my perspective. Unwatchable.
I have not seen his new show yet, I doubt I will. And as for “CSI”, I have never been a fan of any iteration of those shows.
