    I always thought it was because HE thinks he is "all that" ... but he really isn't.
    So HE thinks the song is about all the great thing he is ... but it's really saying he's a fool for believing that.

    I remember a few decades ago she had a contest. I can't remember what it was, but the winner was told who the song was about.
