Are you good at being thrifty?

Managing or using money in a careful, wise way; but not being stingy.

No, I am actually pretty terrible at it overall. I need to be trained. This post was edited by Kittigate at January 9, 2022 12:01 PM MST

“Trained”? I just happen to know of a really good financial advisor who is quite effective in giving instruction in that field of endeavor. Shall I arrange a session or two?

Additional lessons may be required for students who have more complex economic situations.  Also, be forewarned: there are severe penalties for failing to grasp the concepts that are being taught.

A little bit. I'd feel better if Big D stopped refusing to loan me some money.

“Loan”? Those days are over. The only way you get any scratch out of me is through hard work. There’s a load of South American tildes coming into the country on a dubiously registered freighter tomorrow night. The authorities know my face better than they know their own, so I need someone to go down to the docks and handle the transaction for me. Same terms as last time, if the heat leads leans on anybody, you’ve never talked with me nor do you even know me. Ok, so here’s a little bit of flash money, enough to get them interested, and as usual, once the deal is closed, you’ll get your cut of the profits after distribution has been completed . . .

She’s referring to the fact that it’s even written into her user name.

I do not squander my money, but I don't deprive myself of something that I really want.

  • I think I manage my personal finance well.  I pay my bills on time and I spend less than I earn.  The last time I checked, my personal credit rating was 794 (The scale is 300 to 850).
