Have you ever practiced with using ancient weapons like shooting arrows with a bow or casting stones with a sling shot?

Or trying out with any other kinds of ancient weapons...?

    Yep.

In junior high, a bunch of kids made swords in woodshop.
I had to "go big" and make a double-headed, two-handed battle axe.

When I was in high school, a few weeks of PE was spent on archery.

I tried to use a boomerang, but could never get it to do more than a 90-degree turn.

    I have a two-headed flail, a staff, and a warhammer.

I've had numerous sling-shots over the decades.

I started looking around for alternatives, when states started passing laws about keeping firearms locked up separately from ammunition.

Back when there were only four planets and I went to sleep-away camp, archery was one of our activities.

Yep for a Canadian with no gun I am a pretty dangerous fellow. I make some of my ancient weapons like bows, Bo staffs and short and long range sling shots. Sometimes I incorporate a bit of modern technology into my ancient weapons - like my long range sling shot that will propel a D cell battery pretty far. Once I made a catapult it could launch a sandbag about 20 feet. Cheers!

I enjoy watching that pumpkin tossing contest, where they use trebuchets and air cannons.

I've had a go at archery (longbow) but never taken it up as a hobby.
