That's because insurance companies/doctors are reluctant to prescribe/pay for Oxy(codone) long-term...so the "morons" go get heroin on the street when their prescriptions run out.

  • Then they are no longer on Oxy. Why so quick to spin doctor a statement?

Oxycontin really has little use long term except in a few extreme cases.   It's over prescribed, not under prescribed.  Besides, I'm not talking about people who become addicted because of doctor prescriptions.  I'm talking about people who get hooked because of recreational chosen use.  I was one of those morons at one point in life.

@Glis -- I am glad you were able to overcome your addiction.

And this was not meant to be a serious commentary on the problems of opiod abuse/addiction. I was merely playing with the word Oxy (which is sometimes used as slang for oxycodone).

  • Yeah so was I really.lol
Thanks man,  I really do  appreciate it.  I was a lucky one and came to realize what was happening before it got to the point of no return.  Luckily I got myself away from it before turning to heroin and needles.

  • Pointless fact of the day: 'moron' is the Welsh for 'carrots' (pl).

'Oxy' (as in 'oxymoron') means sharp, pointed, acute.  I think pretty much all carrots are pointed, so yes.
