What’s one of the positive parenting-related thing your father or mother did that you happily emulated as you raised your own children?

For me, it was that my mother taught me to read when I was about two or three years old. It has always reaped so many glorious benefits in my life that I am deeply indebted to her for it. In turn, I did the same with my children, and even though I didn’t hear it until they were grown, they thanked me for it.

Waste not, want not. I was one of seven kids, we weren't wealthy.
I didn't tolerate my children wasting anything and neither do I let my grandchildren do so.

Same as you, reading at an early age, although I'm not sure who actually taught me. I just entered first grade knowing how to read.
    Being on time.
    Thrift.
Take all you want, but eat all you take.
