    I would not have minded even reaching the level of college lecturer, let alone a university professor (an accepted researcher who also supervises students at PhD level and may head a particular school in his or her university).

    Had I been of that exalted profession, it would have been in one of the Science or Engineering disciplines - for the former, perhaps Geology.

    However, unable to learn mathematics I had no chance of a professional career in either Science or Engineering, in industry or academia; but did womble through 40+ years' life at workshop and laboratory floor level in them!
