  • The papers report such cases occasionally, but it's usually a week or so when neighbours call the police because of the stench.

    When I was 40 I did not live alone.
    When I was 50 I did not live alone.

    When I was 60 I did not.

    Now I am almost 66 and I finally get to. 

    Do not think for one second that this is necessarily a bad thing.

    Having to take care of all those darn cats!

    I don't want to have to do that but if you reach 40 and are still alone . . . and I think that's the law. Just like the law that forces all New York retirees to move to Florida.

    I don't have any fears about living alone.  I lived alone for a long time and loved it.

  • Have rarely lived alone, but when I did I loved it.
    The key is looking after yourself properly and liking your own company.
    Also being proactive about friendships and involvement with interests and community.
