He was a popular singer during my high school years in the mid 1970s.

I was out of high school in 1963, but I do know who Peter Cetera is.  However, I couldn't tell you the name of any of his songs. This post was edited by Spunky at February 25, 2023 7:56 AM MST

Reading your response and taking into consideration Spunky may or may not have meant her response as tongue-in-cheek, I contemplated editing the question to explain who Peter Cetera is, but I stopped because others might know right off the bat. I’ll leave everything as it is for now and test the waters after more input has been made. Thank you.

You've certainly heard his voice, if you've ever listened to the band "Chicago", or between some year in the 70s and most of the 80s and maybe he came back after going solo, left again, came back again... I really don't know, but that happens a lot with these ancient groups... that I like and realize that means I'm getting closer to being ancient myself!

Plus, he happens to be one of Jaimie's favorites. She loves the way he shakes his head when he sings. She's obsessed with him!

”I like it a lot myself.”

    Truly a redundant statement. Grrrr.

I also like the Amy Grant duet. She could have been Mrs. Peter Cetera! Didn't she become Mrs. Vince Gill that way? Or was that the 2nd Mrs. Garth Brooks I'm thinking of?

I really love his duet with Cher from a movie I like a lot, 'Chances Are'. The song is called 'After All'. I think I'm going to play it on the piano right now.

Edit (Update): I couldn't find the book with the song 'After All'. I didn't realize I hadn't found that one, so that means I have more piano books hiding somewhere in my garage.  This post was edited by SavvyAnsley at October 2, 2022 10:35 AM MDT

Yes they met by singing a duet on Gill's Christmas special in 1993, both were already married at the time. She continued to sing on the annual special. Both divorced in 1999 and they married in 2000. I do not know if cheating was the reason for their divorces.

Yes, Garth Brooks and 2nd wife, Trisha Yearwood, met by singing the duet "Like We Never Had a Broken Heart" on her first album. This post was edited by my2cents at February 24, 2023 7:52 PM MST

I'm not convinced that lifelong monogamy is natural for humans, but my own neurological, psychological and philosophical essence always produces the same result for me, a strong distaste for cheaters. But it's really not my business, and I hope all involved have found happiness.

I thought of another one I really like, but I haven't been able to concentrate enough to really remember it.

It was a duet with the woman who played "Helen" on the 80s/90s show "Wings" and one of the waitresses on the 80s show that I also can't think of at the moment. Great. Oh! Her name is Crystal Bernard! Now for the song... I can't think of it! The other TV show... I can't think of it either. It was all about the restaurant staff in a swanky place.

I'm not going to look anything up yet. There's a lot of information (most essentially useless, of course) for the brain to sort through. I'll give it some time.

It’s either “Forever Tonight” or “I Want To Take Forever Tonight”.

Yeah, I caved and looked up Crystal a couple of hours ago...

The waitress show was "It's a Living".

At least I remembered the duet artist's name!
