Ex-Catholic. I was raised that way, but was wrestling with certain aspects of RC doctrine and dogma long before I met and married a Protestant girl.
I briefly toyed with the idea of returning via the schismatic Old Catholic Church, but then they elected Benedict to replace JP II. Josef Ratzinger, a former card carrying member of the National Socialist German Worker's Party. It could be argued that he had no choice but to join the Hitler Youth (there's an equally valid argument that NO German of his generation is fit to be Pope for that reason), but in Ratzinger's case the point is moot - joining the Party was never mandatory and Nazi antisemitism was overt.
Jesus was Jewish. A Nazi cannot represent Him. And is wrong no matter what chair his a$$ happens to be warming. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at October 24, 2022 7:56 PM MDT

  • I was baptised as a Catholic, but only my grandmothers are devout Catholics. My parents took my brother and me to mass on Christmas and Easter, but they never discussed religion at any other time. I attended mass only with my grandmothers.
