When was the most recent time you heard, by chance, a song that uplifted you because of how you felt in that moment?

Mine --

after a long day of challenging-but-fun-and-successful work/life requirements, on the car radio I heard

En Vogue's  "My Lovin' "

This is another group that I love. They helped make me feel even better.
I especially like when she says, " . . .  and I'm out the door!"

Didn’t you post this question only about a month ago?

Good memory!, ha! I looked up my questions.

This one is pretty close, and you're right - - it's very close to the same but subtly different to me.
    Oh, well.  :)

What is your most recent example of unexpectedly hearing a song you forgot how much you liked?

And I forgot about this question until I found it in my questions.   :)

It gave me a chance to listen to En Vogue twice this evening. It's worth it to me.  :)

  • I remember songs that were perfect for the moment.

My uncle is a truck driver. There are several truck drivers in the family. Sometimes, I ride with my uncle during my time off from work. During one trip with him, Seven Nation Army played on the radio. I asked my uncle if it were possible to drive to Wichita. It's not possible. The highway ends at the border of Colombia and Panamá.

Another song that was perfect for the moment was Orinoco Flow. On a trip I took to Venezuela, Orinoco Flow was the song that played on the radio when I went across the bridge over the Orinoco.

    Talking some more with me

    happened again today --

R.E.M.   "Everybody Hurts"               (I've always liked the music video to the song, too)

EDIT: I'm not surprised, the official music video (cars on a highway) won't copy to here; I recommend 'watching it/listening' if you've not seen it; here's the song itself

Yup, I'm answering one of my own questions again since it happened TWICE to me today. And I'll post both songs.

(And I smiled again when I saw Randy D's answer here,  reminding me that I had previously posted a similar question before this one.)

I was feeling okay today when i heard both songs today by chance - - but, boy, they made me feel so much better! :)   These songs uplift my soul.

"What a Difference a Day Makes"    Dinah Washington

    and

"Best of My Love"     The Emotions

:) Thanks for answering, Chief Ten Beers.

After reading the song title, I admit, before listening to song, that I first looked up the lyrics to the Vince Vance and the Valiants song and read them. Then had to get ready for work. As I brushed  my teeth, my mind put a melody to the words.

Later, after work, I listened - -  my mind had been correct. :)
    :)

Regardless of the song's topic, and the song being originally from 1980, the song brings about a myriad of thoughts and feelings to me.
But I do give credit to the group for a very original (to me) creation. And a great performance.

I just now looked the song up in Wikipedia. Ug. We humans, I think, could do well to just get along with each other regardless of differences.

As for "Eat My Crack," you can keep it. I stopped listening after about 12 seconds.
