Did you hear about Matt Gaetz and Mike Rogers?

During the House speaker vote Matt Gaetz and Mike Rogers almost got into a fight. When Rogers lunged at Gaetz - out of habit Gaetz said - sir I don't even know your teenage daughter (stole that joke from a talk show host). Cheers!

    Play on words.
    He is calling the Republicans involved "jokes."
    And playing off the "walked into a bar" jokes.
    And "punch-line" = an actual punch.

    My attempt at humor.

    1. Those 2 people are jokes (joke meaning: "a person or thing that is ridiculously inadequate").  {Of course, most politicians are "jokes"}
    2. They wanted to punch each other out (oh, they were thinking it).  {One might call it a "punch-line"}
    3. As the old joke goes, "Two jokes walk into a bar...".

    Thank you for the explanation. I just made up a joke. Matt Gaetz walks into a bar and asks the bartender if there are any minors in the bar. The bartender says no so Matt Gaetz  leaves. Cheers!

    It got a lot of people talking about them. But it is not the kind of talk that will help them show that they are united or capable of governing. So I still can't see why they would stage something like that. Cheers!
