Not all of them do. It's why Florida has 800,000 new legal residents in past year. Texas and Arizona also have a lot of new legal folks. Businesses are also closing. I think some people who live in the city are so convinced that NYC is the best place in the country to live, they cannot imagine living anywhere else. Maybe. It would have been hard for me to move to a new city during my career and child-rearing years. I can imagine moving now, no problem. It's a good feeling. I would not live in NYC....I would not have lived there before the current problems. I have been there quite a few times and thrilled to leave each time.

Now you sound like the people who say that passing gun laws will prevent gun violence. Large cities have had violence for centuries. Always have, always will. It happens because of population density and related factors, not who is or isn’t elected to office.
For historical reference, watch the film “Gangs of New York.” It depicts the city in the 1860s, just as violent or more so than it is today. Nothing new under the sun.
No.....prosecuting crimes will help with crime. They will either leave to another less strict city or they will be in jail. But if you do not prosecute or have things like no cash bail
...criminals have no reason to leave or change their behavior.
So because the city has always had crime, it is an excuse not to enforce laws???
Really, these 3 teens (2 are 17yrold and 1 is 15 yrold) just tryied to set an elderly man on fire. And when a man stopped them, they beat him. And they are not being prosecuted.....exactly how does that = laws being enforced???

That is the one making news. Who has a DA devoting time and energy to a $130k NDA and letting others go who have committed violent crime. I guess if you do not charge for crimes it will make the records look safer than you are.
My state has a crappy DA in St Louis as well....our State AG is actively trying to have her butt removed.

So white collar crime is OK with you? It should not be punished? The perpetrators in your article were juveniles. You want rich, powerful people to commit fraud without consequences, so they have room in the jails for teenagers. And if you still think this is about an NDA, you have really not understood anything.
Election regulators said there was no crime. NDAs are not illegal.
It is about a DA with a bad case of Orange man bad syndrome.
Yes, even 17yr Olds who commit violent crimes should be prosecuted. When you beat someone because the person stopped you from setting an elderly man's hair on fire...
You should be prosecuted as an adult.
