I'm not going to try to justify the Y's action. The thing that was really egregious was not informing parents and students ahead of time.
Another issue this puts on the horizon: is that male in the girl's locker room really trans or just claiming to be? There's no way to keep these young women safe under these circumstances.
Not if you're a teenage girl in Springfield, Ill. who wants to be on the swim team. You probably don't have a teen daughter that has hopes and dreams. I was one once long ago but I know how easily things get ripped from your grasp at that stage.
That is your opinion that is it not of importance. This is not an isolated incident. This stuff is going on all around the country. Women/girls especially young girls should not be subjected to it. No one should be forced to share a changing room with someone with the opposite genitalia.
But that was your choice to do such. These women are not being given a choice. Also changing rooms do NOT have stalls.

It is the government causing it. Telling groups that get gov funding that they will not get their money if they do not allow the people into the opposite changing rooms of their body parts. The gov is telling them they are in violation of Title IX laws.

It is a legal issue so it is an issue even for privately owned institutions. It is an issue in schools, colleges, universities, pools, gyms etc.

Complaining publicly helps get the word out to get people to pressure law makers to fight for your position. There are many cases that have been reversed because of public outcry.
Then why are you here? We are all free to ask and answer what we want here. It does not matter that we are a small site. If you do not like or think a topic matters you are always free to ignore it. But why belittle them? Certainly, would not grow our little site.
Using your logic, no one should talk about anything even at home if it is just your small family unit....nothing you can do about it.
