Why is there a storm named Hilary but not one called Donald?

I know they’re usually given female names, but there should be an exception. It would be a real sh*tstorm!

You missed him!  He was last month.

Hurricane Don was a category 1 hurricane on the night of the 22nd of July into the morning of the 23rd of July.  He became a tropical storm on the 14th of July and became a post-tropical cyclone on the 24th of July.

He stayed over the Atlantic Ocean without ever making landfall.

Tropical Storm Hilary knew exactly what time to show up for the disaster party.  She got there at the same time there was a 5.1 earthquake centered near Ojai.

Many years ago, they began giving male and female names alternately.  I'm surprised that DeSantis hasn't decided that's too woke and made a campaign promise to change it.
