Will there be or has there been a tropical storm named after you?

You can look it up. I did; mine has never been used, nor will it be in the near future.

It's very doubtful, my name is out of date, old fashioned.

My name has been used for eleven tropical cyclones worldwide; a Category 5 hurricane that became the second-most intense hurricane in the Eastern Pacific basin with a minimum pressure of 902 mbar; and a Category 1 hurricane that never affected land.

Too often, I find my typos after I hit "post."  I have a theory about that.  I think that, even when you proofread your comment, you know what you meant to say and you have that in your mind so you don't actually catch the mistake.  That's my explanation and I'm sticking to it! Yes.  8 times.  3 were tropical storms, 4 were hurricanes (one reached category 4 strength).

Yes, near The Sandwich Islands, it strikes annually to eradicate that place of even the mere trace of mayonnaise. Grrrrrrrr.

I couldn't find a hurricane Jane, but under my real name there was one over 50 years ago.

I've no idea if my real name will ever be attached to a storm, but it won't be a tropical system.

Northern France and the British Isles have a mild temperate-maritime climate but we do have storms occasionally, and the meteorological services of the French, British and Irish (also Spanish?) governments have taken to naming them. I think they take it in turns to do so!

These storms are born over the Atlantic Ocean and come in across the Western Approaches.

I don't much like this naming of inanimate weather systems, which appears copied from the American fashion for naming hurricanes.

    .

Rumble, rumble..... I was woken at 3am today by a thunderstorm that was very rich in lightning but not ever so noisy. It gave us a power-cut for an hour or so. It drifted away as did the following cloud and rain, leaving a short period of sun late this afternoon. It sounds as if another thunderstorm is wandering about, not far away, as I type this. Right on cue!

The Atlantic Ocean was unusually and worryingly warm this year, and I would not be surprised if that gives us a wet and windy Autumn and Winter over here. "Flash!" "Rumble!" half way through that last phrase. Not far away but not ever so powerful. Perhaps just a small-scale storm.
