Holy tacos, Batman.. Does the right wing really wanna attack Mexico??

They DO indeed!!

Donald Trump has led the calls for war, enlisting advisers to come up with ways to attack Mexican drug cartels — with or without Mexico’s permission. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis promised he would send military forces to Mexico on “day one” if he is elected president. Vivek Ramaswamy, the businessman-turned-presidential-hopeful, said he would use “military force to decimate the cartels, Osama bin Laden-style, Soleimani-style” in the first six months of his presidency. Former CIA agent Will Hurd — who at one point was the only Black Republican in the House — said this week that he wants to “dismantle cartel and human smuggling networks by treating them the same way we treated the Taliban and Al Qaeda.”

It is all just I Want To Be Elected talk. And they aren't really thinking things through. If they were to start sending in the military there would likely be a lot of Americans murdered in Mexico out of revenge. The cartels also operate in the middle of villages so a lot of villagers would be killed. Cheers and happy weekend!

You may well be right but it is not the sort of talk any country would expect to hear about themselves from their neighbour's politicians' election-campaigns.

The revenge murders would likely take place in the USA too. The Mexican drugs gangs can't operate without colleagues or buyers in the States.

    Hello N:

It should be noted that not only does the cartel OPERATE in the middle of villages, they ARE the villages.

As long as there are people who want to use drugs, there will be cartels.  We have spent a fortune on the war on drugs and have wasted millions, if not billions, of dollars to no avail.  Time to invest in more cemeteries.  If you overdose and die, oh, well.  It isn't as though you didn't know that could happen.
