  • It's when art is most needed.   To bring voice to people and beauty to the world in ugly times.
Where there is art, there is possibility.

  • Thanks.   Crisis and turmoil are  historically  hotbeds of creativity and expression.

Why would art ever be in crisis?  There are zillions of really good artists. OK, maybe not the folks who paint that weird stuff on the sides of trains.

BHWilson, I debated using in a crisis instead of in crisis. The crisis may be a county's crisis or a person's crisis---any crisis, so I left it like that.

I know artists create during any kind of crisis. Art has a role in daily life. How could art help someone feel better when they are in a crisis?

  • To the last question:
Music can be a balm when emotions are painful,
or an echo for expression and catharsis.
Literature, performance or film can provide insights.
Visual arts can help us see differently.
Any artform can be an entertaining distraction from unpleasant realities in life. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at November 9, 2016 1:54 PM MST
