Are you visiting with your family for the next couple of weeks?

     Extended family? In-laws? Distant aunts, uncles and cousins?

      We will be getting together with an adult nephew and his wife and children this coming weekend.

    Yes!  Next week we’re going to Colorado for Thanksgiving.  We’ll spend Thanksgiving Day at my brother-in-law’s house.  My mom will ride with us and she’ll spend Thanksgiving with her brother and his wife.  I think it’ll be just the three of them thanks to strained relationships and health issues on that side of the family.

    No, I will not. But I will be giving some awkward answer to this question over and over again as it is asked by well-meaning people who don't seem to realize that what is just small talk for them, may be painful for others.

    Visiting "with"?

    I visited one of my sisters and her husband for Christmas afternoon.

    Three days later, I'm yet to meet the other sister and her hubby. We like to spread Christmas out a bit, in our extended family!

    Since both couples and I all live within walking distances of each other, it's not that vital we cram everything into one week....
