How do I make almost a perfect ball out of paper or cardstock?

Here I just try cut 8 slits around and fold each partially & glue in right there, then I may just push in farther like in curve, or I may cut into square-try wet it, or not wet it, then do like puncture (in middle) with whole thumb tip, one of it I peeled the cardstock out of a thin metallic sheet.

Just thin paper, that it’s easier to fold?
Maybe would try connecting sturdy round rings together in different directions inside to make framework for a ball.
And I may try cutting many (narrower) ellipse shapes (all separately in same shape & size) then glue each together to each next ellipse shape-should bend just in curve when put them together.
I would make thick paper ball-maybe in many thin papers glued together.
Do you know of any website that have more of class/tutorial that teaches how to make a really (perfect) ball shape just with a sheet of paper?
