No, we are not.   I do not want Canada voting in our elections.  We have seen what they vote for and do not want that crap here.

I do not know what Trump's angle is on the Canada the 51st state, but it is not supported by most Trumpsters.   Nor is the H1B visas. This post was edited by my2cents at January 7, 2025 4:27 PM MST

No, Trump is not an idiot.
He has a purpose and it is likely leverage for trade/tariffs.  I do not exactly what it is, yet.
But no, I do not support Canada being able to vote in our elections.

Means Canada will most likely have an ugly PM again.
Unlike the US, nations of the British Commonwealth have a parliamentary system that involves checks and balances. The Prime Minister is like a team captain rather than holding absolute power. And like a team captain, he can be bounced if he's not performing. The voters elect the party and the party elects the leader.

    So no change then.
I am glad US has our system. I cannot imagine giving Congress that much power.

You'd rather concentrate it in the hands of a single individual? That's how a dictatorship works.

I rather have a leader who answers to me....rather than lifetime politicians.

    Not the case.
But still better than most of Congress.
